Meet Our Super Registered Dental Hygienist - Shannon Harrelson

When you poll the team around Carolina Family Dental about Shannon Harrelson, the word “super” comes up a lot. They’ll say she’s a “Super Mom” or a “Super Hardworker.” So it’s super easy for us to explain why we are so thankful that she’s part of our team and a contributor to our excellent workplace culture. As colleagues we say that Shannon is super helpful, a great teammate under pressure, and that she “always brightens my day.” So, her value to us is far greater than as simply any registered dental hygienist. 

Having said that, Shannon is, in fact, a super dental hygienist. Graduating in 2002, she has almost 20 years now of successful experience. In addition to her licensure as a hygienist, she has obtained certification in CPR, Infiltration Anesthesia, and Monitoring Nitrous Oxide. Her favorite part of the job as dental hygienist is educating patients on the habits and importance of oral care. She feels strongly, as we all do here, that oral health affects a person’s overall health much more than many people realize.  

Our patients have come to love Shannon for caring for them as people. She has built a positive rapport with so many patients and she loves caring for them and getting to know their families and watching them develop through the years as their dental hygienist. Both patients and team members appreciate Shannon’s ability to bring the personal and the professional together. Without question, she is doing one super job at Carolina Family Dental.
